WASHINGTON D.C.: The US State Department has said that in the latest fiscal year, US military equipment exported to foreign governments rose 49 percent to $205.6 billion.
Sales included F-15ID fighter jets to Indonesia worth $13.9 billion, Multi-Mission Surface Combatant ships to Greece worth $6.9 billion, and M1A2 Abrams tanks to Poland worth $6 billion.
The Abrams tanks were manufactured by General Dynamics, the F-15 jets by Boeing, and the ships by Lockheed Martin.
The State Department has said that during the 2022 fiscal year, direct military sales by US companies rose 48.6 percent to $153.7 billion from $103 billion in fiscal 2021, while sales arranged through the US government increased by 49.1 percent to $51.9 billion in 2022 from $34.8 billion in the previous year.
Sales of US military equipment in the previous fiscal year totaled $138 billion.
