ABU DHABI, 31st January, 2023 (WAM) -- Saqr Ghobash, Speaker of the Federal National Council (FNC), held talks with a number of ambassadors of Latin American and Caribbean countries to the UAE.
During the meeting, the FNC Speaker said that the UAE and Latin American and Caribbean countries share distinguished relations that are built on cooperation and common interests and highlighted the importance of developing trade and investment ties with them.
He affirmed the keenness of the UAE, led by President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to bolster its cooperation and partnerships with these countries across political, parliamentary, economic, cultural, educational, investment, and other vital sectors.
The list of ambassadors included Francisco J. Chacon Hernandez, Ambassador of Costa Rica to the UAE; Jorge Agustin Molina Arambarri, Ambassador of Argentina to the UAE; Avondale Paul, Ambassador of the Commonwealth of Dominica to the UAE; Luis Alfonso De Alba Gongora, Ambassador of Mexico to the UAE; Samir Al Attrach, Charge d'Affaires of the Embassy of Venezuela in the UAE; Julio Simon Castano Zouai, Ambassador of the Dominican Republic to the UAE; Patricio Diaz Broughton, Ambassador of Chile to the UAE; Willy Gomez, Ambassador of the Republic of Guatemala to the UAE; Alvaro Ceriani, Ambassador of Uruguay to the UAE; Justin Hawley, Ambassador of St. Kitts and Nevis to the UAE; Jose Aguero Avila, Ambassador of the Republic of Paraguay; Cesar Augusto Dominguez-Ardila, Minister Counsellor of the Embassy of Colombia in the UAE; Ailyn Martinez Sarduy, Charge d'Affaires of the Embassy of Cuba; Marco Antonio Santivanez Pimentel, Consul-General of Peru in Dubai; Nadia Al Kheder, Charge d'Affaires of the Embassy of Brazil in the UAE; and Odilio Villanero, Charge d'Affaires of the Embassy of Panama in Dubai.
Also attending were Saleh Ahmad Al Suwaidi, UAE Ambassador to Brazil, and Saeed Al Qamzi, UAE Ambassador to Argentina, as well as several FNC members.
The meetings discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in various fields, especially boosting cooperation and parliamentary relations between the FNC and the parliamentary bodies in these countries.
The ambassadors praised the UAE's openness and development in various fields, highlighting it as a role model for other countries.
They also stressed their countries' keenness on strengthening and activating parliamentary relations in various fields, in a way that contributes to strengthening and developing the ties between the UAE and their countries, to achieve their common interests.
