Washington DC [US], March 9 (ANI): The two-time Oscar-winning music composer Hans Zimmer shared his reason for maintaining distance from composing music for the superhero movies, reported The Hollywood Reporter.
As per the Outlet, the two-time Oscar-winning composer previously announced his retirement from working in superhero films after the 2016's Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice was apparently 'very hard' to work on.
He's already worked on The Dark Knight trilogy, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Wonder Woman 1984 and X-Men: Dark Phoenix. However, when it came to teaming up with Marvel, officially, he's declined, quoted The Hollywood Reporter.
While responding to a query by Josh Horowitz, who asked him if MCU has ever called him for the music composition after his retirement for superhero movies, Zimmer said, 'They have, and it was always -- timing wasn't great. And really, quite honestly, I'm looking for other things right now. Look, I've done the trifecta. I've done Batman, Superman, Spider-Man and Wonder Woman! I mean, what do you want me to do? Some of the minor characters? Probably yes,' as quoted by The Hollywood Reporter.
While his work in superhero films is over, his friendships and professional relationships with his collaborators remain strong. Most notably, with Christopher Nolan, who Zimmer worked with on Inception and then Interstellar and Dunkirk after The Dark Knight trilogy.
Zimmer added that he's also not interested in working on any Star Wars projects either because he'd have to 'reinvent' it, quoted The Hollywood Reporter.
The composer's additional credits include the Dune films, the Pirates of the Caribbean movies, Gladiator, The Lion King, Top Gun: Maverick and many more. (ANI)
